Nano isn't installed by default is it??

I'm sure vi is so when handing out advice, meager as it is, I'll
probably stick with what I know is available rather than suggest
someone install another editor just to change a couple lines of text.
For the same reasons, I'll suggest gedit over gvim. It has nothing to do
with what's "easy". :)

Oddly enough I do have nano installed here but never use it. I find it
very "pine like", but still confusing after having used vim for so long
(and being a mutt/vi guy). <g>
