I get the same thing when using wireless, and the Network Manager
Applet.  Every time it connects to a wireless network it replaces the
DNS with whatever the wireless router fed it.

I find it strange that DNS seems a global setting, when it should
clearly be a setting PER network. (Not even per network interface, but
actually per network of which there can be many, especially wireless
ones.)

Like you step into a Starbucks shop and BAM!, your DNS settings are gone
with the wind. :)
