Will Apple's new iPhone sync with Ubuntu ?

I suspect not. A cell phone is far more locked than your typical media
player, and I suspect that Apple will keep it that way. To this point,
they've not even SAID if it uses SIM Cards like typical phones or if it
uses some other method of authentication/realization. We do know the
battery is not disconnectable, so it will have the same issues as the
IPOD with regards to the battery eventually dying out. We also know
that they consider it revolutionary (I do not) , so they might have some
other method of locking it to a single user or network.

So, I'm going to say that with the ability for Apple to push down
firmware upgrades without the yes/no approval, and the fact that the
product is a cellphone, it will definately be a major issue to sync onto
it. Jobs has repeatedly indicated that Itunes is the ONLY way to get
stuff on this thing.
