usb2 pcmcia (possibly also fire-wire) recommendations please

I am going to get a USB2 pcmcia card for my laptop witch only has USB1
(I just got a 500GB USB2 drive and it is slow).  Thought I may as well
get one that does fire-wire as well.

Any recommendations, either for cards to get or avoid.
