I run with caddies, hda was physically removed, hdb caddy was removed,
jumpers moved on hdb and slotted where hda was.

Nope, no LVM no RAID. 160GB was stock ubuntu install, 80GB was
partitioned by stock ubuntu install, files deleted & rsynced ...

Yep its a hard kernel lockup :(


What specifics can you add?  When

I have been playing with this HDD & caddy for a while including
dumping a fresh ubuntu install on it as master - the jumpers are OK,
it works a treat ... got to be something I am missing ...

Problem is it aint getting past the kernel boot.
