Not sure if this is the same, but I've had a lot of problems with Oo
over the past month with opening office files as well.
However, there was a large Oo update within the last few days (on Feisty
7.04, anyway) that seems to have fixed that problem (I know because I
sure made enough noise to both Ubu and Oo about it)...
