Ah. I'm still trying to get used to a GUI environment.

Perhaps. Like I remarked, it's a bit confusing since it's not clear
to me if the tutorials online apply today. They often discuss setting
things up that just work on my machine. I'm also not clear if the tpb
package (along with other Thinkpad-related packages) are still needed.
Always fun getting a new laptop setup.
