Hi!
Try the following:
When you're at the Login Screen, hit ALT+F1. You will get a command
line. enter your username and  password. Then you should be either to
login (in text mode) or you will see some error that you can post.
If you get through there, I don't have an answer ready just yet...
maybe somebody else has an idea?
