Opinions learning Ubuntu/Kubuntu

Hello all,
I'm getting really frustrated. I'm very new to Ubuntu/Kubuntu
        and I'm
trying to find the most efficient way to learn one of them. I'm
        a KDE
fan but the documentation of Kubuntu doesn't seem nearly as
        available as
Ubuntu, so I guess I'll learn Ubuntu first.

I purchased the book by William von Hagen called "Ubuntu Linux
        the
Bible" to see if I could start to grasp the concept of all that
        is
Linux. I just came from a 9 month attempt on Open/Enterprise
        SuSE
Linux...but found that Ubuntu seems to have a better handle on
        what
desktop user and systems admins want in a Linux systems...so
        here I am.

How did all of you learn Linux/Unburnt to the point where it's
        like
        breathing?
This book starts off decent...but by chapter 4 it's talking
        about things
that haven't been explained yet and I'm lost! I need the
        learning to
start off from almost zero and work my way up...what do you guys
        think
is the best method to really learning the insides and out of
        Ubuntu/Kubuntu.

Also, even though I really like KDE should I learn on Kubuntu or
        should
I concentrate on Ubuntu and then after I have a good idea what
        I'm
        doing, then go to Kubuntu/

I'm an IT professional that is trying to get heavily into
        Ubuntu/Linux
and still having an issue getting a handle on things.

Any input that you guys have is much appreciated.
        Thanks,
        Chris
