Thanks Roger,
That sound close to what I'm doing here. You know it's not so much as
the learning curve that bothers me...it the weird things that happen
that aren't normal. (I should mention that I always running the Compiz
3d cube/desktop effects on all my Linux systems.) Like when I load my
favorite KDE packages, like K3B ,Kaffeine and DigiKam. K3B and DigiKam
will crash on running the application...they shouldn't...I don't
remembering having that problem in SUSE when running KDE apps in Gnome.
OR I'll double click to open a program or a link in the browser
(Firefox) the window opens but nothing loads...not even the
toolbars...or I compared two exact computers...same hardware
exactly...one with Ubuntu and the other with Kubuntu...I downloaded the
Compiz package and the Gnome Compiz controls for it in both
machines...without a doubt the Kubuntu is much slower graphical than the
PC with Ubuntu. The most obvious is on a browser screen that you can
scroll on...you can move the the scroll bar with the mouse and it's
sluggish as hell...but on Ubuntu it's lighting fast...why? It drives me
nuts. It's weird stuff like this that really test my enthusiasm. I'm
going to post a seperate thread for this stuff. Hey thanks Roger for
your opinion and experience.

Chris
