downgrade libvte9

How do I downgrade from libvte9 version 1:0.16.1 for Feisty to
an earlier version 1:0.14.1 for Edgy?

I tried editing /etc/apt/sources.list to add the repositories for edgy
back to the list, ran an "aptitude update", "apt-cache showpkg
libvte9P to see that version 1:0.14 is available, and finally an
"aptitude upgrade libvte9=1:0.14.1-0ubuntu1". But I got "No packages
will be installed, upgraded, or removed."

Is there a way to force a downgrade? This is because I want to work
around this bug:

Yuelin.
