 Stick Automatix on your dual boot laptop and try to do an upgrade.  :) You
have a very valid point in that doing an install is just simple to do and I
find myself doing the same thing.  I really wish I understood the whole VPN
thing better myself.  Seems rather hard to destroy the system that way but I
freak out that I might destroy my internet connection.
