Weird - yes the drop down menus disappear behind the animation.
I think this is a flash plugin bug. I am using Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31 and
I see the same thing on the page you linked.
Unfortunately flash is proprietary, so this is their bug - you might try
looking for an avenue to report bugs to Adobe - I found this one:
