The Netgear WG511T b/g cardbus wireless adapter (says WG511TNA on the
box, says (c) 2006, and there are 2 Atheros logos onthe back of the box)
works fine out of the "box" with Ubuntu 7.04 on my 2004 Toshiba laptop.
No hunting for and installing drivers, firmware, etc or playing with
ndiswrapper. Just plug it it and it works. I even installed Ubuntu 7.04
on my laptop by wireless using it. No wired connection needed. But it
does use a restricted driver (ath_pci).
Note, this is NOT the same card as the Netgear WG511 (circa 2004), which
did not work, at least for me. And someone mentioned the Netgear WG111
usb wireless adapter. I would like to know how (using ndiswrapper?)
because I have never been able to use it with any FOSS system. I
consider it just a useless paperweight. I think the Netgear MA111 usb
wireless adapter is supposed to work with Ubuntu 7.04, but it did not
work "out of the box" for me. It does work "out of the box" on
OpenBSD.
