need help with ubunto installation

I currently have PClinuxOS installed  on my system and i want to have ubuntu instead i downloaded the iso file and burned it as an image and when i reboot my computer nothing happends it goes straight to PClinuxOS is there something i need to do? or is there another way to install ubunto? please reply soon thanks
