The drive isn't listed i fstab.

As a matter of fact... I don't get what's going on there at all..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point>   <type>  <options>       <dump>  <pass>
proc            /proc           proc    defaults        0       0
# /dev/sdb1
UUID=40ab7fba-5e9e-4fc3-b6fd-cd0c2e044151 /               ext3
defaults,errors=remount-ro
 0       1
# /dev/sdb5
UUID=5c4ba5db-556c-4d28-97b5-53a19589f697 none            swap    sw
          0       0
/dev/hda        /media/cdrom0   udf,iso9660 user,noauto     0       0
/dev/hdb        /media/cdrom1   udf,iso9660 user,noauto     0       0

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The partitons showing up there as /dev/sdb1 and /dev/sdb5 should
actually be */dev/sdd1* and */dev/sdd5*. At least I thought so (see
previous post) lists them as sdd1 and sdd5.

This is making absolutely no sense (to me anyway).

On a (possibly) related note...

I have to manually edit /boot/grub/menu.lst every time I get a kernel
upgrade because grub seems to get my devices mixed up and the computer
won't boot.
