thought I'd encountered a bug, but perhaps far more sinister...

Noticed that sometimes when accessing a file over Samba the server would 
freeze. Eventually found that it was dumping lots of messages to 
console, and I could get the records from /var/log/kern.log
I tailed the file and caught the last 100 lines in the attached file, 
hope there's no sensitive info in there!

Looks to me like it may be complaining of a failing hard drive... I'd be 
glad if someone would be able to confirm/deny my hypothesis.
