Gutsy Gibbon poses problems unknown to Feisty Fawn

Hi

I upgraded to Gutsy but I have some problems:
- my vt can no longer be sat to vga=791. If I do that, there is no 
display until gdm gets its X-display. If I want to switch to vtx using 
Ctrl-ALt-x, than I have a blinking cursor in the upper left screen and 
no login displayed
- how does strigi work???? No index of pdf or tex files on my system?
- I use an encrypted data directory. I can mount it using luks but the 
password is echoed to the screen during boot up.
