Network Question?

Hi, Have been using Gutsy and am very pleased with it. Only strange
thing i dont understand is somehow my ADSL connection(wired not
wireless) uses Roaming mode and as i turn everthing off at night in the
morning i have to start my connection up manually by clicking the
network manager. I have tryed setting it up manually to DHCP(my router
is set up for it) but that does not work. Also the configuration is set
at eth1 and i think should be eth0 as i only have one network card.
Any answers please?
