Just install smartmontools, and ran "sudo smartctl -a /dev/sda | grep
Load_Cycle_Count" and my result came back as 177874. I am using an IBM
Thinkpad Z60t, that has an 80gb Toshiba HD. By contrast, my IBM
ThinkCentre Desktop (acting as a Web Server) has 8473 Power-on hours,
and only 173 power cycle counts. It is Running Ubuntu Server 6.06. I
have a 76gb WD Raptor in it.
