Network Manager still not working

I have been able to get my wireless working
intermittently with Network Manager.  It breaks
everytime I reboot, one thing that I noticed is that
when I do a "sudo iwconfig" command the Encryption
Key contains Hex values while the wireless is working.

When it goes belly-up, Encryption Key reads "off". 
This is driving me crazy.  WiFi-Radar works no
better, also can anyone suggest a way of finding out
if
Network manager might be writing errors to a log to
help diagnose why this is happening?
