Installing Ubuntu from floppy disk?

Your best bet is to gain access to an external CD drive (like a USB one in
a cage, or similar) and boot from a floppy that then looks for what you
need on the CD drive. If it doesn't have USB, you could look for one of
the older drives that works via Parallel port, or you could put an
inexpensive (like, less than $10) NIC in the machine, and netboot to an
installer. Personally, I'd go with the NIC option, it's a lot less
trouble, and makes the machine a lot more useful.
