Hard disk icon on desktop

Derek... On both my laptop and my destop, my NTFS partitions are mounted 
through fstab and the icons appear on the desktop... It was like that 
out of the box after installing Feisty.  After installing NTFS-3g, I 
enabled the write permissions with the utility and the icons I still 
there....
