I had a similar problem. slocate failed (iirc, this has _often_ failed for
the simple reason that the prerm script _can't_ be successful - I tried to
submit the bug report from the button, but KDE was too messed up to do
anything, at that point). The message told me that it wouldn't prevent
completion of the upgrade. Wrong! It seems that once dpkg fails, nothing
works.
So, "dpkg --configure -a" worked to a point. Then I purged and reinstalled
slocate (in your case, cfs - use "dpkg --force-all --purge cfs" so that it
doesn't remove anything else), then "sudo aptitude dist-upgrade"
(repeatedly) to finish it.
