Firefox and gnash

I am trying to get gnash plugged into firefox. When I first installed
Gutsy, I surfed to cnn and opened a video file. A popup came up and
offered an installation of flashplayer or gnash. I chose gnash. Then I
crashed my system (won't go there now), and reinstalled gutsy from DVD.
Now I can not get firefox to give me the gnash option, it only gives the
flashplayer option, I would rather use gnash as it seemed to work more
smoothly that flashplayer.
