Hi Haneef
Strange that a pata drive isn't working as my experience has been they work
out of the box. At least the drives I've tried have.
I don't recall you mention your hardware specs, i.e. motherboard and such.
Might be related from the googling I just did. For some motherboards it
appears that an ide to sata converter is needed.
Something else to check, Is the drive recognised in your bios? Might be worth
noting what it says re the drive. Mine would come up as 3rd ide master for
example.
By asking how to get it to work, I assume it's not showing up at all in
ubuntu? Also, can you boot a live cd from it?
