What you really need to give them is a decent COBOL compiler and a grounding
writing SQL.  The number of TCS and WIPRO COBOL programmers and DB2
"experts" I'm dealing with who frankly don't know their arse from their
elbows is embarassing (and I'm hiring them which is even MORE embarassing).
