Joomla and MediaWiki can't access MySQL Database (Solved)

The problem was with the MySQL user account, since I used the same user account for both Joomla, Mediawiki, and Wordpress. Wordpress configuration changes the password of the MySQL user I used. So I had to create a different MySQL user and setup Joomla and Mediawiki again.

In the case where I used the MySQL root account I will not be able to configure another MySQL user, so I had to remove MySQL, purge the configuration files, reinstall it again, and enable the MySQL root account.

I now have all the three web application running perfectly.

Maybe the wordpress installation restricted the rights of the user. If I
were you, I would inspect the user and db tables to find out:

        ï»¿mysqldump --skip-opt mysql user
        ï»¿mysqldump --skip-opt mysql db

If the output doesn't make any sense to you, post it here along with the
names of the databases you used for Joomla and MediaWiki. Someone in the
list (e.g. me) should then be able to supply you with SQL commands to
fix the access rights. Or, at the very least, it will enable us to ask
more precise questions.
