I'm not sure, if anybody knows your problem, except the vague hint of wifi 
and display. Can you provide a bit more information? Then someone might 
have an idea. Something like:

- A more verbose description of your trouble.
- What version of Ubuntu are you talking about?
- What hardware does your machine use? (Graphic / wifi chipsets)
