Aren't  Xfree86/Xorg supposed to have DBs of old monitor's
Vsyncs/Hsyncs by this time of our lives? Not that it need to be kept
up2date, in these times of plug n play monitors, but I've had my share
of "xf86config" in the past, and I *think* I've seen such a DB file in
a Conectiva version.

Maybe I assumed too much from the XFree86 guys, that seemed to think
for quite some time that that config method was acceptable.
