Maxtor Mini External Hard Drive

Hi, I have just loaded Ubuntu 7.04 to give it a go  and need to figure out how to get my EHD connected.

I have previously reloaded Windows NT I have had to download  software for the EHD from the Seagate / Maxtor tech support site. This site makes no referecne ot reqyiuirmeents for linux etc.

I have a Maxtor One touch III Mini ehd.

Any help would be great. Keep it simple - im new to U.
