I looked at the bug report, and although this might be related, this 
doesn't sound like the same problem I'm having.  It isn't just a slow 
connection using my wireless card (which I've never noticed), but 
problems with the stability of the entire system.  This is actually the 
first time I've ever noticed that this driver was an issue.  Normally the 
problem is with starting or stopping any running process.  I can't start 
processes and when I kill them they become zombie processes.  

The problem may be caused by the driver mentioned, but if so, it is 
strange that nobody mentions it in the bug report.
