If you are installing any Linux release for a new user who is not IT
literate, you should not be installing a Beta release (even though
8.04 release is only a few days away). Beta releases are put out for
testing. Firefox3 is still Beta (as is Ubuntu 8.04) and lots of
extensions do not work right even if you install the Nightly Builder
Tools extension.
If this is a new user, Ubuntu 7.10 would be a better choice on his/her
computer. There is an easy and well documented upgrade path to 8.04
once it is released.
Another option is to install Firefox 2.0.0.13 in the Ubuntu 8.04
install and have them use the older stable version until Firefox 3.0
is finished.
