I am not sure I understood your question. HP provides Linux drivers for
all its products, and so Ubuntu and other distributions come with these
drivers available, and your HP devices work out of the box.>>>

I will heed your advice about HP.  It will probably make things easier.
Just remember a week ago I could barely spell Linux.
