Hi everyone:
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and am using a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop (Gnome
desktop) and wanted to know if any of the internet wireless devices from
cell phone companies work. I use Alltel and they list the following devices
and I wondered if anyone knew if they were compatible with Ubuntu?
UTStarcom UM175 (It is windows and MAC compatible)
The UM175 offers high-speed EVDO wireless Internet access. With a
swivel-type USB connector, it provides a faster connection to corporate
networks, the Internet and e-mail while away from the office.
Kyocera KPC680
The KPC680 ensures optimal performance with peak download speeds of 3.1 Mbps
and upload speeds of 1.8 Mbps. It features dual external antenna ports for
signal flexibility and includes PCMCIA Type II and USB slot adapters.
Huawei EC228
The Huawei EC228 offers high-speed wireless Internet access on the Alltel
nationwide EVDO data network. With peak download speeds of 3.1 Mbps and
upload speeds of 1.8 Mbps, it's a best choice to access the Internet
anywhere, any time.
Any help that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
so much!
Mark
