This, in my mind, is then covered under point 4 of the same section
"Tailor your reply to fit the text which you are replying to. Do not
quote the whole of the previous email - remove any unnecessary text. To
avoid confusion, it's often a good idea to replace removed text with a
brief indication that something has been removed, like [snip]."
Whilst I agree with you to some degree, in that we don't want a general
user on this list trying to run the show, I don't personally think there
is anything wrong with polite reminders of these guide lines (by posting
the link) and then letting those involved decide for themselves if they
are following them or not. Whether they agree with the guidelines is
another issue, but they are I think the closest to 'official' rules we have.
