The -+ is not required. Just the Ctrl key and mouse scroll wheel will
work. If this is not the case on your FF, check in about:config:

mousewheel.withcontrolkey.action

should be set to 3. If not double-click the 'Value' and change to 3.

mousewheel.withcontrolkey
How mousewheel works when CTRL key is pressed
mousewheel.withcontrolkey.action
Action to take

    * 0 : Scroll document by X lines
    * 1 : Scroll document by one page
    * 2 : Move back/forward in history
    * 3 : Make text larger/smaller

mousewheel.withcontrolkey.numlines
Number of lines to scroll by (if relevant)
mousewheel.withcontrolkey.sysnumlines
Scroll by a number of lines equal to system default?

And, if by chance you are like Dotan and have only one good hand at the
moment, you can also set it so that the scroll wheel alone can adjust
the text (but then you need to use the scroll bar to scroll the page):

mousewheel.withnokey
How mousewheel works when no key is pressed
mousewheel.withnokey.action
Action to take

    * 0 : Scroll document by X lines
    * 1 : Scroll document by one page
    * 2 : Move back/forward in history
    * 3 : Make text larger/smaller

mousewheel.withnokey.numlines
Number of lines to scroll by (if relevant)
mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines
Scroll by a number of lines equal to system default?
