Ndiswrapper & ESSID problem...

*I am having a problem in changing the ESSID too read ESSID, using 
iwconfig wlan0 essid "ESSID", without the quotes...I have tried may 
times yet it will not change it...
I am doing this a root, not as a user...

Question the Node that I want to connect to, its name is 'gibson', so 
does my essid need to be the same, or not for my wireless adapter to 
associate with the node 'gibson'...???

Any help would be appreciated...
