I've not experience that problem (yet), but can see where it can happen.
The other problem with allowing write access from Windows is the
possibility that a Windows virus/trojan could use the ext3/2
drive/partion to hide itself. Wouldn't make much difference when
operatng in the linux mode, but it could be a real bear to find from a
Windows system.
