Cant delete/remove files in /opt

If you have not the permission to remove a file, then you have not the  
permission
to changemod a file. This is expected behavior.

Ubuntu has no root password by default. If you didn't change that, you have
to use 'sudo' with your normal users password and not 'su' with the root
password.
