Hi,
I am installing Ubuntu on a friend's computer but I ran into some troubles.
The computer is a Emachines T3882. If I try wit Ubuntu 7.10 it will log to
the screen but there is nothing on the screen and only the mouse is moving.
I tried with Ubuntu 6.10 and begun the install as I had a normal desktop
appearance but now it is blocked on the partitioning.
I begun the install, choose everything then choose the new partition size to
50% and push forward. Nothing is happening for more than one hour now.
Does anybody knows what the problem could be?
I defragmented Windows and it is 83% empty but a little everywhere on the
drive same after more than one defragmenting.
I am thinking about unpluging and try again but any idea to be able to do
this installtion would help.
I was thinking to upgrade to 7.10 if I could install 6.10, would it be
possible?
Your help would be appreciated, thank you
Meg
