usb-- mounting of media players

using hardy, and plugging in my archos media player, it automounts, but
no icon on the desktop like it use to in the past.  If I open up
nautilus it has an entry, and when I click it, taskbar and windows that
are open freeze.  cant use the taskbar or click on anything at all.
only thing that works is right clicking on the desktop.  ctl alt bkspc
kill x and when it reloads I have no taskbar, cant do anything.  reboot,
start same process over, same deal.  any clue why I cant access a media
player anymore?  All I want to do is transfer my music to a shared
folder.........This is a fresh install of mythbuntu.
