Command line usenet client?

Many years ago I used Pine & found it to be quite sufficient. See:

That said, you can actually install a GUI desktop on your server if you
wish. Perhaps something light like xubuntu:

sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop

then

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start

All of your server features/functions are still available & working and
you can then use Thunderbird for newsgroups & Firefox for your DSL
bandwidth speed testing.
