When I put that link into a browser I am redirected to:
https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify... etc
Now, if I go ahead and turn on cookies and flash and login as a valid
sbc user I get an AT&T ABC News flash video (and not the Miss USA
video), but _only_ if I complete the login.

Point being is that the link that you provided is not a standard link
that anyone can view. Fash works, but their webpage is screwed up as it
doesn't allow you to scroll down the page to view much below the flash
section & a bit.

It will be easier for other's to help you if you can provide a more
accessible flash (youtube.com, abcnews.com -
http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5379254 & select the Miss USA
 - http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=5368669).
