Win98 -- all kidding aside

I have come into this after the discussion has been going on for quite a
long time. As I understand it a GUI approach to the use of floppies is
being asked for which, in my opinion, is very reasonable. I seem to
remember that the first version of Ubuntu had, under accessories, a menu
for formatting floppies. I was prepared to put up with that and to use
the icon on the desktop when a floppie was put into the drive. Somewhere
in the development of Ubuntu the facility to format floppies got lost
and I have always regretted that.
