Two options left to try:
- Make hda1 NTFS.
- Delete hda1.
I know for sure that Windows XP (pro) can be installed after Linux,
because it worked for me (both times). But I didn't try with the inferior
FAT32, only NTFS.

That would be option 4, while asking Windows experts would be option 3.
