Ubuntu installation under VMware and clock date errors

     1. Just install like you would a normal PC -- you may have to read
        VMware's documentation on how to set the VM to boot from a CD
        image.
     2. The standard Desktop CD will work fine, and so will Alternate.
     3. Operating systems in virtual machines can lose track of time due
        to pauses and things like that. You can set up Ubuntu to
        automatically sync to an internet time server by going to
        System>Administration>Time and Date. VMware may also provide
        some software that can be installed in the Ubuntu virtual
        machine that will synchronize the guest's time with the host's.
