Mine is about 6 feet away and it shows me:

Speed: 1 Mbp/s
Driver: b43
IP Address: 192.168.1.103
Broadcast: 192.168.1.255
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Route: 192.168.1.1
Primary DNS: 71.243.0.12
Secondary DNS: 68.237.161.12
Hardware Address: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I realize that the slower the speed the further the distance,
but Sometimes I'd like to have more speed when watching a video or
downloading a file.
