converting .swf to .mpg

Ah, ok understand now, sorry :-)  My version of ffmpeg comes from the
medibuntu repos:

http://www.medibuntu.org/
  http://www.medibuntu.org/packages.php
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

Add the repo per the help.ubuntu.com above and then install ffmpeg from
there.
