Compiz and ccsm in Hardy

Thanks Cybe but that's not it.  I can access ccsm - it works fine.  I
just want my custom button back.  :)

a)  it provided a visual indication that Desktop Effects was enabled
(yes, it is pretty obvious when Compiz is enabled, perhaps this is my
Windows roots showing again - it is nice to know that the system and I
*both* know Compiz is enabled)
b)  it showed that I was using custom settings, not the provided defaults
c)  it let me toggle between the basic settings, the advanced settings,
and my settings

If I am understanding you and Mario correctly then that button has been
removed and this is on purpose - ie nothing went wrong with my upgrades
to Hardy.  That is good news.

What is frustrating to me, and would be moreso if I were new to Ubuntu
and figuring out the interface, is that after setting some custom
settings if you wander over to this dialog it will look like Desktop
Effects is not enabled (nothing is checked - yes, including none, this
contributes to making the UI look broken).  Then clicking on "basic" or
"advanced" results in the loss of any custom settings.  I feel this
makes the UI a little inconsistent.

Having that custom button let users know that desktop effects was
enabled, the system knew it, and the user had customized things.  Now it
looks like the system doesn't know what is going on.  That's my opinion.

I'll live, thanks for letting me know it wasn't my system or the upgrade.
